The title (You Don't Have to Think, Feel or Live Like This) and subtitle (How to Reclaim Your Agency, Find Your Authenticity & Become the Author of Your Life) serve as the ultimate synopsis in themselves. The book introduces the New Mindset Model™, a practical, structured, and scientifically grounded framework designed to help us fundamentally change how we experience and engage with life.
At its core is a simple but powerful distinction: we are either expressing or suppressing our agency, authenticity, and authorship. When these are suppressed, we stagnate and suffer; when they are expressed, we move toward growth, alignment, and human flourishing. The book is about guiding us from suppression to expression—showing that we do not have to remain trapped in patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that no longer serve us.
To do this, the reader is first given a clear and accessible understanding of themselves, grounded in neuroscience and biology. The model distinguishes between the mind, brain, and body—termed the “Human Trinity”—and explains how our reality is shaped through habits of impression and habits of behaviour. By understanding what those two things are and what is within our control, we can begin actively reshaping our internal and external world.
The book then moves into practical application, teaching structured methods for updating both our internal patterns and external behaviours. Central to this is the concept of authorship: if we do not like the life we are living—the “book” we are reading—then we must pick up the pen and begin writing it differently. This is my overarching metaphor throughout the book, backed by clear psychology.
Throughout, the book is written in the first person plural, creating a collaborative, discussion-led tone rather than a didactic one. It is also highly visual, supported by a series of original diagrams and models that bring clarity, structure and simplicity to otherwise complex ideas. Additionally, the book is accompanied by a practical workbook that translates the ideas into application—because insight alone is not enough. It provides a clear, structured way for readers to implement what they learn and create real, lasting change.
My work is a synthesis of modern self-development psychology and classical philosophy, particularly Stoicism. It brings together practical, contemporary approaches with enduring philosophical principles, drawing inspiration from figures such as Mel Robbins, Marisa Peer, Gabor Maté, James Clear and Epictetus. The result is a fusion of science, philosophy, and practical application, designed to create a clear and actionable framework.
